book review before i go

Before I Go
-Riley Weston

The book captured me like one of those books you read as a teenager in one summer afternoon. In fact, I think this book may be even better suited for a teen (secretly, I still enjoyed it!). One of the things that a lot of girls can probably relate to in some way is the relationship between mother and daughter highlighted in the story. I could certainly relate due to the love-hate relationship I had with my own mother growing up (don’t worry, I have since moved past the hate part!). For those of you that cried to the old movie, “Beaches”, this book will have a similar effect. The story centers on the bond between two children that grow up and must face life’s challenges, all the while discovering their love for one another. Though I thought the book was predictable from early on, I still enjoyed it and found it to be a nice, easy read. Before I Go is the perfect poolside read and a story I think would easily engage teenage girls.
